Very Nice concert. All the pieces were rendered very well. Nice selection of songs also. The AlApanais of kIravANi and mOhanam were both full of enjoyable phrases interwoven to make them quite heavy. The svarams were all beautiful and had some involved kaNakku. The korappu were all good also. The short sketches were all quite crisp and nice. The violinst was good in parts. His fiddle kept going off sruthi. The mrudangist was ok.
Sri Bhaskaran seems to be a widely under-rated artist and deserves better patronage and audience. It was just a dozen of us when he began. The quorum rose by 100% as the concert proceeded. Lord Varuna decided to keep the crowd intact by showing up during the kannaDa piece. It was back to the same dozen when he finished.
