A nice concert. The alapanais were all very elaborate. The raga bhavam was intact. The neraval and svarams were all good also. kritis were well rendered. Accompanists were very good

The kalyANI main took me aback. (I went to eat when it started :| ) I thought the harikAmbhOji would be kept as the main item. I got offended for harikAmbhOji, to be honest.
hehe. i do accept that the harikAmbhOji was very elaborate and would have fitted as the main piece. However, it is the musicians's thought process which works on stage, not ours.
I wish to know who this anon is.
OK. I will say who I am (I'm the same anon) ... but you should not take offence for the artist, because it was a beautiful concert. Great was it of the artist to play so elaborately a song other than the highlight piece.
no offence and all. just wanna know who it is, for the sake of it.
It was me. In fact, you have said the same thing about a veena chamber concert you enjoyed very much (you said it was 'Mami's own way of showing that our system of music is unparalleled in the world'). The actual main piece there too was in kalyANI!
