A beautiful concert. The concert started with 3 kritis which denote the sequence of Sri Thyagaraja Swami trying to find his pooja vigraham, finding it and welcoming back to his place. Sri OS Thyagarajan gave a lot of insights into the composers' musical and lyrical grandeur, and his extreme bhakti. The concert was on the occasion of the 255th DoB of the great composer. Sri OS Thyagarajan said that he has compiled audio versions of about 670 compositions of Sadguru Thyagaraja swami from different artists and also mentioned that he probably knows a few compositions out of this set as well. He mentioned that he owed all his knowledge to his gurus and Sri Thyagaraja Swami and this was his humble contribution to the cause of music and the composer. The said compilation would be released in DVD format on 07-May. As it was a special concert, it was announced that manOdarma parts would be lesser than usual and more compositions would be presented. The concert was a mix of popular and rare compositions. All manOdarma parts were measured and crisp. The team had a good understanding and the entire presentation was wonderful.
