A very nice concert. The alapanais were both handled well. The kritis were all rendered beautifully. The neraval and svarams were also very apt. The kAmbhOji kriti was beautifully handled. Accompanists were good and supported very well.

This is a bit late, but I reckoned it (I wasn't watching the singer's kriyAs) as one khaNDa cApu, one miSracApu and one 'rUpakam'. It was working ... so I think maybe he used TWO tiSra beats, so both become equal to 36 kuTTi-beats (akShara kAlams I think they're called)?

My reckoning: 10 + 14 + 12 = 36
His reckoning 10 + 3 / 6 + 20 = 33 / 36

this thiruppugazh is set to a cycle of 36 aksharams split differently by various artists.

Sri Vijay Siva follows a cycle of two kaNDa cApus and one kAkapAdam.

The tALam i mentioned is what i noticed on karthik's hand and also confirmed from him as well.

Some people sing it in kaNDa tripuTa.
