An exquisite experience this concert this was. The yamuna kalyani was so pleasing. Ananda bhairavi was so moving. A crisp and fast saveri that was so beautiful. A grand and majestic shankarabaranam. A pleasing sindhu bhairavi. The team gave a very wonderful concert

It was a concert in memory of Sri SVK on the occasion of his birthday

The concert had a good beginning with the quick hamsadwani and a stunning rendition of the mukhAri kriti. kArubAru was rendered with a lot of bhavam. Having it first up raised the audience expectations on what was coming up. After a neat presentation of the hEmavati, the AlApanai of suruTTi was very classical and soul-filling. The kriti was rendered so well.

After a quick sAranga with a nice round of svarams, came the main course. shankarAbaraNam AlApanai was a classy affair from the beginning. It was mix of rare and innovative phrases and yet very moving and classical and so wonderful. It was a very rare kriti that was presented with a grand round of neraval and svarams. With two quick tukkaDAs, the concert ended. All the accompanists matched well with accompanying appropriately and in their responses.

It was a great concert and a fitting concert for the occasion. Raga sudha hall and Nada Inbam always means good classical music. Whenever there is a good concert there, it feels that Sri SVK is sitting somewhere and enjoying it himself, as his usual self. This was definitely an occasion of that kind.

It was a wonderful concert. Each piece was rendered the traditional fervour and gait. The rAgams chosen were all classical and elaborated in a very heavy classical fashion. The manOdarma parts were great as well.

The grand opening with nATTaikuranji varNam was great. The rare amrutavAhini number that followed had a crisp round of svarams. The mukhAri AlApanai and the kriti that followed was a totally classical affair with many rare prayOgams handled. The mukhAri response of the violinst was a shade better than the main artist.

The bEgaDa was very absorbing and classically rendered. The main sAvEri AlApanai was absolutely out of the world. The kriti was backed up with a round of neraval and svarmas which were great as well. The viruttam that came later was also very touching.

From a veteran musician, it was all great music from end to end. A totally classical affair with a good measure of vyavahArams and saukyam and vishrAnti. The violinst was very good and matching, if not better replies to the main artist all thro' the concert. Her following for the kritis was great as well.

The mrudangist played with much anticipation and perfectly matched each line and sangati well. His structuring of the tani was also very interesting to listen, even to novices like me. He was well supported by the Ghatam artist.

It was a fantastic concert right from the start. The kritis were all exceptionally rendered with a lot of feel. The choice of rAgams and kritis was particularly refreshing. The AlApanais of kharaharapriya, khamAs, pUrikalyANi and the main kAmbhOnji where all wonderful and done to the right measure with a lot of classical phrases. The neraval svarams were all done with quite a bit of vyavaharam, without breaching to the raga bhavam. The accompanists did a wonderful job in accompanying and giving appropriate replies during their turns.

It was a very good concert to remember for a long time.
